What this page covers

This page is about the website, onelittleline.com. The One Little Line app doesn’t use browser cookies; what the app does with your information is in our Privacy Policy.

Always on: remembering your choice

When you answer the cookie question, we save your answer in your browser (as oll-consent, in local storage) so we don’t ask on every page. It holds only “accepted” or “declined”, never leaves your browser, and is needed for the site to respect your choice, so it doesn’t need your OK. Our host, Cloudflare, may also set short-lived security cookies that protect the site from abuse.

Without your OK: anonymous counting

Until you accept, and if you say no, we use PostHog’s cookie-free mode to understand which pages people read. Nothing is stored in your browser. We see the pages visited, the links and buttons clicked, the site you came from, your browser and device type and your approximate location (country and city). Your IP address is not kept, and a visit is grouped by an identifier that changes every day, so you can’t be recognised on a later visit. Nothing is recorded.

With your OK: a cookie and visit recordings

If you accept, PostHog sets a cookie, ph_…_posthog, and uses your browser’s storage, to recognise your visits over time. It lasts up to a year unless you change your choice. From then on we may also record your visits: how you scroll, click and move around the pages, and what the pages showed. Anything you type into a form is hidden in recordings. Recordings also include technical errors and loading times, so we can fix what breaks. We use them, and heatmaps of where people click, only to improve the site, and recordings are deleted after 30 days.

Who handles it

PostHog stores this data for us in its EU cloud. The site is hosted by Cloudflare. We don’t use advertising cookies, we don’t share this data with advertisers, and we never use it to identify you.

Changing your mind

Use the buttons at the top of this page at any time. Saying no after accepting removes PostHog’s cookie and stored data from your browser, and recording stops straight away. Questions? Write to us at hello@onelittleline.com.
